Raw materials and metal stock that needs to be cut, drilled, and welded together can be done from a contractor or engineer that works as a metal fabricator, or from a fab shop. The construction of machines and equipment is a tough job that is labor intensive and should only be done by those that are experienced in this industry. Fitting and casting parts together, including wheels, wings, tables, brakes, hydraulic machines, tubes, beams, and many other custom equipment can be done by qualified contractors and engineers that are hired by businesses to fulfill specified orders. There will be a process that must be followed for the system and hardware that's required to construct machines that are safe to use. Manual and automatic machines that are made in fabricator shops will require different amounts of labor depending on what the job of the machine will be and its size. Find customer satisfaction reviews on different places that build the machines and see if any should be avoided, even if they offer a better estimate. Before hiring a company, meet with each to go over what it is that you exactly want to have made and if you have a timeframe that must be followed so your orders can be done on time as well. Only choose somewhere that you feel comfortable working with and feel like they will do the best job for you. While some may have a great price that may mean that the work won't be done as well as a higher paying shop.

Metal fabricators and fab shops have the ability to prepare metal surfaces, fit and weld pieces into assemblies, machine pieces and assemblies into specific tolerances, assemble parts into semi-finished or finished equipment (including piping and electrical), perform surface finishing, and provide preparation and painting of metal assemblies. Metal fabricators are used by contractors, OEM's (original equipment manufacturers), and VAR's (value added resellers). Common projects for metal fabricators can include loose parts for larger assemblies, structural frames for buildings and heavy equipment, and hand railings for stairs and buildings.
