There are different types of tank testing and inspection that are performed. Quite often when commercial or residential property is purchased, any underground fuel tanks will require testing and inspection. The main purpose of tank testing and inspection is to determine if the tank is leaking or corroded. In some cases, after a tank test and inspection the tank is either removed, replaced with a new tank, or the tank is repaired. When tank testing and inspection is performed, sometimes the surrounding soil is also inspected and tested. When samples of soil are taken from around the tank, it is inspected and tested according to EPA standards.
